The Synthesis Matrix Table provides you the ability to start organizing the literature you have located through your searching of resources.   See the Assignment Resources section below to access the table template. You will need to have three pieces of evidence listed on the matrix table.  Once you have completed your matrix table utilize those resources to construct a brief literature review on your selected topic. Be sure to utilize one of the many video resources in the unit's learning resources to guide your construction. NOTE: Direct access to the article is essential for grading. Either upload all evidence along with your table or be sure an activated link is provided to ensure it leads directly to the article you are presenting. Synthesis Matrix Table to Literature Review Your Name: Course Code: Semester:   Source 1 Source 2 Source 3 APA Reference Citation Purpose of the Study/Article Is this a research study? If it is an experimental research design, list the independent and dependent variables. If research but not experimental design, what is the study design? If this source is not a research study, what type of literature is represented in the resource?       What is the evidence hierarchy (level of evidence) represented in the resource?       What are the findings/recommendations in this resource that are relevant to the problem you selected from the list?       Review of the Literature Introduction Tips for Introduction: It is always good to start this section with a grabbing statistic (with citation) regarding the topic to grab the attention of the reader. Then introduce the topic of the review and why it is important. In scholarly writing, do not write in first person language, instead write in third person language. End the introduction paragraph with a purpose or thesis statement as your last sentence of the paragraph to introduce the main points/sections of your paper. Example: The purpose of this review is to… Concept 1 Concept 2 Concept 3 Conclusion Tips: Notice the Conclusion is a Level 1 Header, centered, and bolded. A conclusion section should be included that expresses your thoughts about the body of literature reviewed. It is normally one paragraph in length, succinct, and restates the main points of your paper. You should also restate or rephrase your purpose/thesis statement. In a conclusion, you should not add new ideas or new information with citations, you simply summarize the review and reflect key elements. If you need to add cited information, move that information to a previous section of your review. You can end the conclusion by clarifying the intent and importance of the review.
